A Church usher is a person who helps ensure the smooth running of church service and who ministers to people in a variety of practical ways, such as greeting people, ushering them to the seat, helping with the distribution of Holy Communion, handing out bulletins, passing important information to the sacristy, answering questions of the worshipers and visitors, meeting with emergencies, taking collections and placing it in the safe and so on. They are the face of the church as only a few people get to meet the priest and ask questions, but everyone can meet the ushers. As Prophet Jermaiah says, they are "men of God" and the "keeper of the door" (Jer 35). They serve as a "first representative" of Jesus and "Captain of the Church". We are deeply indebted to their love of God and the love of the Church. Thank you for your elegant and vigilant appearance and commendable service, especially during the pandemic.
