Sacraments



Baptism
The St. Ignatius is happy to initiate a child of any age into the Catholic faith through the Sacrament of Baptism.  For more information visit our Baptism page.  

Adults who wish to be baptized go through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adult (RCIA).  For more information, contact the parish office.

First Reconciliation/Communion
For children receiving First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion please contact the Faith Formation Office at 516-935-6873

If you are an adult who has yet to receive First Holy Communion please call the rectory office at 516-931-0056 and ask about the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).

Reconciliation
Reconciliation take place Saturdays 3:30pm-4:30pm in the Old School  or by appointment.  For a guide, visit our Reconciliation page. 

Confirmation
In the Sacrament of Confirmation the baptized person is “sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit” and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. Often Confirmation is depicted as baptism with fire. The Sacrament includes the laying on of hands and the anointing with the holy oil, Chrism.

Holy Orders
The first step needed is the right discernment about your vocation to Priesthood or diaconate. Once you are sure about your vocation, call the Rectory for an appointment with a Priest.
