Funeral

During this time of sorrow and loss, your St. Ignatius parish family wishes to be with you and pray with you.  A Consolation Minister will be in contact as soon as possible and meet with you at the church to help you plan for the Mass of Christian burial.

When you make arrangements with the funeral home they will give you a booklet, written by our church, with scripture readings, music and the way family and friends may participate during the Mass.  Then, when meeting with the Consolation Minister, there will be time to talk about your loved one and the qualities that made them special to your family.

The Mass of Christian Burial focuses on our faith in the resurrection and the comfort and healing we receive through Jesus Christ.  It is appropriate that these words of remembrance are best spoken at the wake service and not the funeral Mass.

If at anytime after the funeral  you need any help please call the parish office at (516)931-0056 and leave your name.  Someone will contact you to be of assistance and to let you know about bereavement meetings at St. Ignatius Church.

Our priests, deacons, ministers of consolation, staff and parish family are here to offer our support and pray with you at this sacred time.
