Dear Families,

As we begin this new year we’d like to remind you about some special events planned here at St. Ignatius in the coming weeks and months.

We will begin our celebration of Catholic Schools Week on Sunday, January 31st with a special liturgy at 11:00 a.m. in the church.  Mass will be followed by a reception and open house for all our families, as well as for anyone who  might be interested in learning about our school.  Please invite family, friends and neighbors!

Another Open House will take place on that Wednesday, February 3rd from 9-11 a.m.  Once again, please help us spread the word by telling anyone you know who might be interested.  We are advertising these open houses, but word of mouth is sometimes even more effective.

In February, the students will participate in our annual Science Fair.  In late March we will have our annual Literacy Night.  The end of April brings with it our annual school musical – this year the students will present “Disney’s High School Musical Jr.”  Cultural Arts Night will be held in late May.  There is always something exciting to look forward to at St. Ignatius Loyola School!

We wish all of our families a healthy and peaceful New Year, and thank you for your continued support of St. Ignatius Loyola School.

Best wishes,

Sr. Mary Ann & Sister Mary

ALL PARENTS:

TAX CREDIT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS:  The 2010 Census is just around the corner! In 2010, federal tax credits will mean more for working families than ever before, as they continue to grapple with the pressures of the weak economy. An expanded and improved array of tax credits include: Earned Income Credit (EIC), the Child Tax Credit (CTC), the newly created Making Work Pay Credit. In addition, a new American Opportunity Credit can help low-wage workers pay for college. More information can be found at the Tax Credit Outreach Campaign website at http://eitcoutreach.org/.

FUNDRAISING LINKS -- Look on the lower left hand side of this page for links to various fundraising opportunities.  Many of these help our school with no extra cost to you!  Please share this information with family and friends to help St. Ignatius Loyola School.

Parents:  Register for email alerts for your child's classes and keep up to date on announcements, upcoming events, homework assignments, and other class information. Click Parent Registration button on the left and follow directions. Plese note: If you registered for this last school year you will need to update your account for the new school year.

Please remember to check the e-mail address you provided to us at the beginning of the school year on a regular basis.  This is the primary means of communication between home and school.  It saves both time and money -- the cost of paper has increased significantly in recent months.  Stay informed by checking your e-mails everyday!  Thanks!

Welcome to St. Ignatius Loyola School's Web site!

St. Ignatius Loyola Parish School was founded in 1907 and is located in Hicksville, New York. For almost a century, our religious and academic programs have nurtured and developed each child's God-given gifts and talents to ensure them to lead happy and productive lives in this twenty-first century.

The faculty of St. Ignatius Loyola School works together to create an environment whereby each person is welcomed, respected and valued. We support and encourage student relationships built on mutual respect and concern for one another.

We firmly believe that every child should be provided with the means to reach his/her full potential in an academic climate rooted in the Gospel values of love, compassion, respect, hope and understanding.
