CULTURAL ARTS DAY/NIGHT
St. Ignatius Loyola School’s annual Cultural Arts Celebration took on a different approach this year. Rather than simply have each grade focus on the culture of a different country, the goal of this year’s event was to educate the children about Third World countries in particular.

Pennies for Peace is a service-learning program designed to broaden our students’ cultural horizons while teaching them about their capacities as philanthropists - one penny at a time. RESPECT LIFE CONTEST FINALISTS - We are pleased to announce that the following St. Ignatius Loyola students were finalists in this year's Diocesan Respect Life Contest: Robert McHugh, Essay, Level 1; Hye Rin Shin, Bookmark, Level 1; and Stephanie Joseph, Poetry, Level 1. The theme of this year's contest is "Every Child Brings Us God's Smile."

"LEGO CHICKS! "
The LEGO CHICKS Girl Scout Robotics Team from St. Ignatius Loyola School took 1st Place for Innovative Olution at the qualifier on February 6th and 2nd Place for Robot Performance in the recent First Lego League Championship Tournament, "Smart Move Challenge," sponsored by the FIRST LEGO League (FLL). The Championship was the culmination of eight weeks of research and design and two qualifying tournaments. It was held on February 28th at Longwood High School.

NURSERY and PRE-KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
NOW BEING ACCEPTED
Here at St. Ignatius Loyola School we offer a warm nurturing environment with a curriculum that includes pre-reading and pre-math skills, religion, music, art, cooking, physical education and computers/technology with an emphasis on social development and kindergarten readiness. Children use interactive SmartBoards, play on our brightly colored indoor playground and attend dance class.
After School care is available for Nursery and Pre-K students.

"MOMMY & ME PROGRAM" - St. Ignatius Loyola School offers a program for two-year-olds and their parents/caregivers. The program includes arts and crafts, songs, free play time and socialization. Children develop social skills without experiencing separation anxiety. Adults socialize and discuss their common parenting concerns in a relaxed atmosphere.
The program meets on Thursdays from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. and each child must be accompanied by an adult. Sessions last 12 weeks and the cost is $200.

Please note that a list of available uniforms has been posted in the PA section of the School website. If you are in need of any uniform items, please email the PA (parent.association@stignatiushicksville.org) with your contact information and the items and sizes you would like. If you can donate uniforms, please bring them to the school office or to the PA meeting.
